Matt Lloyd
My name is Matt Lloyd. I am a 30 something, living in Tennessee. I have a
drop dead gorgeous wife and two wild pups. I have always been a fan of
comics for as long as I can remember. The one thing I have always wanted to
do is illustrate my own creation. I came up with Black, Bart two years ago.
I am very excited to bring Bart to the masses and hopefully the masses to
Bart. I plan on spending the rest of my days drawing pretty pictures and
hanging with the family. |

Jake Scarbrough
I am the son of Mark and Cindy and was hatched in 1976 in Daytona Beach, FL
but actually lived in nearby New Smyrna Beach. I was an artist and writer
from an early age and was interested in all things creative, but I didn’t
discover comics until middle school.
It was so simple back then…I would ride my bike down to the local
convenience store and pick out a book (this was in the 80’s when you could
actually find comics in the magazine racks). First it was The Avengers:
West Coast and the Punisher. It wasn’t until I found the
Uncanny X-Men that I got hooked and started visiting the comic shop
regularly-counting all my pennies and hoping to find back issues that I
could afford. Ah, memories…
When I got to college at the University of Florida, I was forced to leave my
comics behind. I was studying architecture and just didn’t have time in the
day to get to the comic shops or the money to buy anything. I just love
materials fees. Anywho, about a year ago I started wandering back into shops
from time to time. I’m amazed to see how the industry has grown and how many
new titles and ways of telling stories there are.
Somehow, through a series of crazy events, my path led me to Matt Lloyd,
who just so happened to be looking for someone to collaborate with , so here
we are! I’m so thrilled to now be part of an industry that has given me so
many hours of pleasure. I hope everyone who reads Black, Bart gets a
piece of that excitement!
